Ute,

Do you mean you installed dBASE PLUS 2.6.1.5? You could try
reinstalling, it won't hurt. Make sure you are logged onto XP in a User
Account with Admin rights. Be sure you are running the installer and not
just copying files from an old computer to a new one.

Yeah - yeah - I did all that.

Fixed the problem by deleting the manifest file from the BDE directory.

Why was this manifest file put in the BDE directory on an XP installation?

I am having other issues with this new release of dBase. Seems like I do EVERY time I spend my money and upgrade. For some reason there is never a clean transition from one release to the next and I have to scramble stuff around to keep my deployments from being trashed.

Ute,

Windows, even older version like XP, are a moving target because of
Windows Updates. The Manifest files are normally required because of
Windows security in XP and Vista. Are you using the latest patch for
dBASE PLUS?

For your other issues, start a new thread for each one and we'll help
you out (if we can). Be sure to let people know which version of dBASE
you had before this upgrade and which version (including patch) that you
have now.
